Vision Boards, How to manifest your goals and ITF

What is a vision board?
A vision board is a collage of images that represent your dreams. It could be words, pictures, places, material things -all put together on a poster board or electronically made into a single image. The purpose of a vision board is to realize your future, and to activate the law of attraction and move from day dreaming to living your dreams.

What is the law of attraction? The law of attraction is simple – whatever you project energetically or put your energy towards whether that be positive or negative you will attract. What you project is what you receive. A vision board is simply to help set our intentions for the way we want to live, and for our brains to pick up on that and make it happen. For example: If you say “I will always be sick, I can’t seem to get better. I feel terrible, and I’m stuck.” Well guess what: You will be sick and you will be stuck. Your know theses people in your life. You brain hears whatever you say as truth. So your body isn’t going to work towards healing if you believe you will always be sick – it will work to fulfill that statement and make the thoughts match the reality.

Why the Vision Board Works
The idea behind creating a vision board for yourself is to serve as a creative, daily reminder of the goals you wish to attain by tapping into the power of visualization. You may be wondering why going through the process of creating a vision board for your goals is worth your time, or why you would need to put something on your wall when you already have it in your head, but this is exactly the point. The vision board is meant to metaphorically bring your ideas for the future into reality, as a tangible object you can draw inspiration from every day.
According to social scientist Frank Niles, Ph.D., via the Huffington Post, "Before we can believe in a goal, we first must have an idea of what it looks like."
"To paraphrase the old adage: We must see it before we can believe it," Niles said.
This is a process used frequently by world-class athletes, with several studies showing that having a clear picture of the outcome of a game in their minds increases performance. In fact, it has even been shown that mental visualization alone can lead to physical gains in muscle without a person having to physically train.
"Seasoned athletes use vivid, highly detailed internal images and run-throughs of the entire performance, engaging all their senses in their mental rehearsal, and they combine their knowledge of the sports venue with mental rehearsal," Angie LeVan of Psychology Today said.
World Champion Golfer, Jack Nicklaus has said: "I never hit a shot, not even in practice, without having a very sharp in-focus picture of it in my head."
Just as an athlete uses visualization to score a winning point, we can use a vision board to clearly "see" ourselves scoring our ideal career.

How to Make a Vision Board
Step 1: Get a piece of paper and write down what you want. Hand write specific goals that you envision for your career, love life, marriage, school, health and wealth – all aspects of your life. If you are not sure yet, then write down all of the things that you believe will make you happy. For example, you can write about dream vacations, meeting great people, eating delicious food, etc. The sky’s your limit, and your personal power lies in your belief and emotional connection.
Step 2: Prepare all the materials you need to make your Vision Board/s. Scissors, magazines, photos, glue, cork/card board or what ever you want to use as a surface.  Remember, you can use the internet to find pictures to print and use.

Step 3: Paste/pin all the pictures, sayings, quotes, or what ever you have prepared. Put them in order of importance, or any other way you want to see them on your board. At the center you might even place a picture of yourself with a big smile so you will remember to smile when you see your board. Remember that you are not just putting up pictures, you are finding ways to create a different emotional state!
Step 4: Place your board/s in places that you will be able to see them everyday. Give yourself at least a minute (five minutes is better) each day to look at your board and find your attitude of gratitude. Imagine you have already acquired everything on your board. Close your eyes and visualize yourself clearly as the happy, grateful person that you want to be.
The fastest way to acquire the things on your vision board(s) is to visualize, be grateful, be happy and take advantage of the opportunities you have every day. The Law of Attraction will work for you, and you will begin to find the people, events, things and things that you want will move towards you as you move towards them.
At first, applying the Law of Attraction may seem hard, but as long as you keep your faith, as long as you find ways to be happy, as long as you are being grateful and as long as you are good to yourself and to others, you will receive what you desire.

Heal Thyself with Raindrop Therapy

7 BENEFITS OF RAINDROP THERAPY:
1. Reduces Pain – Since its development, it is becoming clear that the elements of Raindrop therapy not only reduces chronic back pain but also benefits other body systems. The analgesic ingredients in the essential oils help reduce pain and discomfort.
2. Helps Relief Stress & Emotional Well-being  Therapeutic essential oils have a normalizing effect on the nervous system making them ideal for reducing stress, anxiety and tension.
The oils can immediately penetrate cell membranes and diffuse through the blood and tissues instantly in a matter of seconds! The oils also cross the brain-blood barrier and effect the limbic system (the Amygdale) parts of the brain that control our mood, behavior and emotions. So if you’ve lost your  “Joie de Vivre” Raindrop therapy will have you smiling and back to your normal self in no time.
3. Relax Muscles – Muscles that are sore, spastic or stressed will also benefit from Raindrop Therapy. Basil, wintergreen, marjoram, cypress and peppermint essential oils help with all the common muscle conditions.
4. Helps Reduce Inflammation - World wide studies have identified several essential oils as powerful anti-inflammatory agents. These include wintergreen, peppermint and thyme. These essential oils are all used in the Raindrop essential oil body therapy.
5. Helps Improve Circulation – Essential oils can be most beneficial in boosting circulation due to oxygenating properties. The essential oils of cypress, thyme, marjoram and peppermint all have properties that increase circulation and act as a circulatory stimulant.
6 Helps Detox the Body Systems - The therapeutic oils used in Raindrop therapy are high in phenols hence, cleanse cellular receptor sites and enhance the lymphatic system.
7. Helps improve Immune function  - Thyme and oregano essential oils are known to support the immune system. They also create an unfavorable environment for harmful viruses and bacteria that can hibernate and lay dormant in the body.
In short, the benefits of this therapy go well beyond the physical benefits. Raindrop can not only help relieve pain and restore immediate physical well-being, but it can set in motion the healing processes that will last for weeks.

Who Should Get a Raindrop?
Everyone!! Really! Everyone can benefit from Raindrop Technique and should get them regularly, especially during the cold and flu months.
People who have curvature of the spine and other back issues would greatly benefit.
For those on lots of medicine or who work in a very toxic environment, the number of drops of oil is reduced so that detox does not occur too quickly. The same is true with children…fewer drops are used.
Children…there is a special technique for children … see below.
Did you know that you can even use them on animals? That’s right…horses, dogs and cats all have specific protocols. I haven’t used it on my calves yet.
Most people report feeling better ~ emotionally and physical. The benefits of the technique continue to increase over the next 6 days.

The Power of the Oils

It is the profound natural-intelligence of the oils which can heal where healing is needed. The oils used in raindrop flush out toxins and kill dormant viruses and bacteria along the spine, restoring health to the entire system.
The question is often asked, “How long does this application last?” Again, everybody responds differently. Generally speaking, the level of health and proper diet are key factors, as are exercise and mental attitude. One application may last months for one person, but then for another it may be necessary to have the application done every week until the body begins to respond. The key is to retrain the body. In some cases, you will have to develop a new memory in the tissue in order for the body to stay where it should be.

In the last 7 years in practice of Therapeutic Massage I have not seen a treatment as beneficial to a range of clients as this one. Raindrop therapy has assisted my client with all sorts of dis-eases such as scoliosis, arthritis, back pain, sickle cell, and more. This is not FDA approved. But the testimonials speak for themselves

“I am a certified  aromatherapist and have administered approximately 40 Raindrop Treatments.  Each and every client has stated Raindrop to be effective at alleviating muscle and nerve pain.  Not one client has found this to be otherwise.  Many have come back wanting to purchase the oils because Raindrop was so effective at ridding cold symptoms, back pain, and in one case, severe sciatica.  There has been no burning or reddening of tissue when the oils were applied neat, and then diluted a minute or two afterwards.”
- Certified Aromatherapist, Alberta, Canada

“In 25 years as a health professional I can certainly testify to some dangerous things I’ve witnessed.  I do not count the Raindrop Technique as one of them.  Education is definitely important. I was not foolish enough to do Raindrop without training.  I do not consider my two extensive days of training my only training, but the many hours of study and my own personal oil use and that of my family’s as important ground work as well. I have looked for many years to find something that is complementary to my beliefs.  I do not pretend to be an aromatherapist, just as I did not pretend to be a pharmacist when I used to take an Advil or a cold preparation.  I would never be questioned if I used or gave friends or family an Advil. So why would helping those I care about using Raindrop or oils be a threat to anyone. The reality is that Advil has been more harmful than any oil I have used.”
- Registered Nurse, Oregon

“I had thyroid cancer, and in seven months, with colon cleansing, chinese wolfberry, and Raindrop Technique, the doctor couldn’t find it any longer!”
- Licensed Massage Therapist and Esthetician, Florda

“I have had Raindrop four times, and it improved my vision with the first session.  I felt relaxed, with a feeling of peace and serenity.  Other Raindrop sessions took pain away from my shoulder areas and assisted in the alignment of my spine.  I have only had wonderful positive results from this technique.”
- Certified Reflexologist and Iridologist, Maryland

“After years of upper body pain and difficulty breathing I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, Lyme disease and stress.  Since using the oils I rarely have had pain or hard time getting a full breath. I have received two Raindrops, and both times it was by someone who was brand new at doing it.  I still had positive results.  I am hoping others in my area will desire to practice this so I can receive more treatments.  It’s terrific.”
- Relieved in Michigan
<The above personal sharings are quoted from “A Statistical Validation of Raindrop Technique” by David Steward, PhD. He conducted a survey in 2001 by circulating a questionnaire to thousands of health practitioners who have a combined experience base of more than 14,000 sessions of Raindrop Therapy.  422 responses were returned to him and the book is a summary of the responses he received.>

It is an exquisite treatment for preventative care as well as care that directly deals with any specific health challenge.

Heal Thyself- Nervous Disorders

The nerves in your body register pain, so when nerves are damaged, the condition will be quite painful. Injured nerves take a long time to regenerate, but aromatherapy treatments can help with the process. They initially relieve pain, and people who use them appear to heal more quickly than others.
Essential oils of lavender, chamomile, and marjoram are excellent at easing the pain of a pinched nerve or sciatica. A less well-known essential oil called helichrysum is specific for this condition. Apply the oil directly on the back or hip to reduce pain. It is also wonderful on painful shingles. People with serious nerve-related problems, such as multiple sclerosis and chronic fatigue syndrome, get noticeable pain relief from the Nerve Pain Oil (see recipe below). For carpal tunnel syndrome, rub this oil into the wrists. Since nerve conditions can be difficult to heal, talk to someone skilled in natural medicine for more ideas on how to treat them.

  •  More about Raindrop Therapy
Raindrop technique is a relaxing and invigorating massage combining aromatherapy with a mixture of swedish massage, an ancient Tibetan technique called Vitaflex, and a Native American technique called Feather stroke.
During a Raindrop Massage, a sequence of therapeutic grade essential oils are dropped like raindrops onto the back and on the spinal reflex points of the foot, and gently massaged in.
These essential oils not only promote alignment of the spine, they also align and balance the flow of energy throughout the body. Raindrop Massage essential oils increase and align energy flow by opening or releasing blockages that are preventing free circulation.

The essential oils used in Raindrop have powerful anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial properties. They promote back and spine health by aiding in detoxification. These oils help to flush out toxins and kill dormant viruses and bacteria that cause inflammation, pain, and disfigurement of the spine.

Live Food Challenge Day 24 and ITF Update...

    • Energy: Fruits and vegetables are much easier to digest than meat, dairy and eggs. If your body isn’t working so hard to digest and process food, it has more energy to put towards other things, like brain power and exercise.
    • Better sleep: Maybe it’s because eating more living foods has been proven to reduce joint swelling and inflammation that’s linked to arthritis that’s helping raw vegans sleep better. They can also rest easy knowing that their cholesterol levels are dropping by the minute.
    • Weight loss: Changing to a plant-based diet has many benefits, like lowering insulin levels, reducing fat intake and increasing dietary fiber, and these all lead to aiding in weight loss. Just removing a lot of the processed foods in your diet will help you drop a few pounds. And with that extra energy that we noted above, you’ll probably start and stick to that exercise program, which will help drop a few more unwanted pounds!
    • Clear skin: It’s been proven that dairy products contribute to breakouts for acne-prone skin. Ditch the dairy and that lifelong problem of bad skin will disappear within a week or so. Can clear skin really be that simple? Yes, it can.
    • Eco-friendly: Michael Pollan, author of The Omnivore’s Dilemma (we’re not just quoting vegans here), states that it takes 10 pounds of grain to create one pound of beef. “There would be plenty of grain for everyone if we actually ate it as food and didn’t use it to make meat. Reducing world meat consumption–or feeding our food animals differently–would leave more grain for the world’s hungry,” Pollan stated in an article for Newsweek.
    • It’s yummy: If you think that eating vegan or raw vegan means that you’ll be eating nothing but salads for the rest of your life, you’re mistaken. Pick up any of Go Raw’s products to see just how delicious raw vegan can be! And cruise the aisles of any good grocery store and you’ll see lots of vegan alternatives to your current favorite foods. Of course, we recommend never missing the produce section, which is the best part of the store. If you don’t fancy figuring out how to be raw vegan in the kitchen, contact us at the Go Raw L.I.F.E. Center and we’ll discuss how we can help you.

Comfort Zones II~ Bringing in the Spring...Buttafly style

Why Leaving Your Comfort Zone Can be so Rewarding (Backed by Science)

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
“Anything you to do to stretch yourself out of your comfort zone will ultimately enable you to take larger risks and grow.”
I’m sure we’ve all read plenty of quotes and articles about the importance of escaping your comfort zone, but what exactly is a comfort zone? What are the benefits of escaping from our comfort zone? And, how do you actually escape from it?

    What is a comfort zone?

Your comfort zone is an artificial mental boundary, which gives you a sense of security and feelings of — well — comfort. Within this artificial comfort zone, everything is routine, familiar and safe.
Inside our comfort zone we rarely seem pushed, unlock our full potential or achieve what we’re capable of. Often, people will stay in a job or relationship just because of its familiarity, security and the fact that the unknown can seem extremely daunting. After all, why break a routine if it’s comfortable?
Though the comfort zone is an artificial boundary, there’s plenty of research and science to back its existence and effects on human performance.

    Why Leave Your Comfort Zone?

Your comfort zone isn’t a bad thing; it’s far from it. We all need a space where we can relax, feel at ease and comfortable. So why should we push ourselves outside of our comfort zone from time to time?
You can achieve more than your wildest dreams:Sometimes a dream can seem a step too far and unachievable. Often this will put us off chasing the dream and we’ll settle for the mediocre (or what is achievable within our comfort zone).
As illustrated by this inforgraphic from Marcus Taylor, as we push ourselves outside of our comfort zone into optimal anxiety and our ‘growth zone’ challenges will become easier and our comfort zone expands.

For more information on this article

    • You'll be more productive. Comfort kills productivity because without the sense of unease that comes from having deadlines and expectations, we tend to phone it in and do the minimum required to get by. We lose the drive and ambition to do more and learn new things. We also fall into the "work trap," where we feign "busy" as a way to stay in our comfort zones and avoid doing new things. Pushing your personal boundaries can help you hit your stride sooner, get more done, and find smarter ways to work.
    • You'll have an easier time dealing with new and unexpected changes. In this article at The New York Times, Brené Brown, a research professor at the University of Houston, explains that one of the worst things we can do is pretend fear and uncertainty don't exist. By taking risks in a controlled fashion and challenging yourself to things you normally wouldn't do, you can experience some of that uncertainty in a controlled, manageable environment. Learning to live outside your comfort zone when you choose to can prep you for life changes that force you out of it.
    • You'll find it easier to push your boundaries in the future. Once you start stepping out of your comfort zone, it gets easier over time. This same NYT article explains that as you step out of your comfort zone, you'll become accustomed to that state of optimal anxiety. "Productive discomfort," as they call it, becomes more normal to you, and you're willing to push farther before your performance falls off. This idea is well illustrated in this infographic at Future Science Leaders. At the bottom, you'll see that as you challenge yourself, your comfort zone adjusts so what was difficult and anxiety-inducing becomes easier as you repeat it.
    • You'll find it easier to brainstorm and harness your creativity. This is a soft benefit, but it's fairly common knowledge (and it's easily reproducible) that seeking new experiences, learning new skills, and opening the door to new ideas inspire us and educate us in a way that little else does. Trying new things can make us reflect on our old ideas and where they clash with our new knowledge, and inspire us to learn more and challenge comfirmation bias, our tendency to only seek out information we already agree with. Even in the short term, a positively uncomfortable experience can help us brainstorm, see old problems in a new light, and tackle the challenges we face with new energy.

The benefits you get after stepping outside of your comfort zone can linger. There's the overall self-improvement you get through the skills you're learning, the new foods you're trying, the new country you're visiting, and the new job you're interviewing for. There's also the soft mental benefits you get from broadening your horizons.

    Happy Spring!!!

Here are some ways to break out (and by proxy, expand) your comfort zone without going too far:

    • Do everyday things differently. Take a different route to work. Try a new restaurant without checking Yelp first. Go vegetarian for a week, or a month. Try a new operating system. Recalibrate your reality. Whether the change you make is large or small, make a change in the way you do things on a day-to-day basis. Look for the perspective that comes from any change, even if it's negative. Don't be put off if things don't work out the way you planned.
    • Take your time making decisions. Sometimes slowing down is all it takes to make you uncomfortable—especially if speed and quick thinking are prized in your work or personal life. Slow down, observe what's going on, take your time to interpret what you see, and then intervene. Sometimes just defending your right to make an educated decision can push you out of your comfort zone. Think, don't just react.
    • Trust yourself and make snap decisions. We're contradicting ourselves, but there's a good reason. Just as there are people who thrive on snap decisions, others are more comfortable weighing all of the possible options several times, over and over again. Sometimes making a snap call is in order, just to get things moving. Doing so can help you kickstart your personal projects and teach you to trust your judgement. It'll also show you there's fallout to quick decisions as well as slow ones.
    • Do it in small steps. It takes a lot of courage to break out of your comfort zone. You get the same benefits whether you go in with both feet as you do if you start slow, so don't be afraid to start slow. If you're socially anxious, don't assume you have to muster the courage to ask your crush on a date right away, just say hello to them and see where you can go from there. Identify your fears, and then face them step by step.

    Dancing Makes You Smarter!

    Dancing Makes You Smarter!

The benefits of dance are certainly not limited to physical exercise and social interaction. If you didn't have enough to get you to a dance class with just those two, there is new evidence showing that dancing, over most other forms of physical exercise, stimulates the brain the most, and provides a highly reduced risk of dementia. Check out a fascinating article here.

Taken from the same article, which uses the findings of a 21-year study conducted by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, funded by the National Institute on Aging, and published in the New England Journal of Medicine, to demonstrate the evidence for dancing being the one of the best forms of mental stimulation, and the only physical activity to offer protection against dementia.

Here are some examples of the many activities observed during the study, and the rough percentages of the reduced risk of dementia as a result in frequently undertaking these activities.
    Reading - 35%
    Bicycling and swimming - 0%
Doing crossword puzzles at least four days a week - 47%
    Playing golf - 0%
    Dancing frequently - 76%.
The 76% reduced risk of dementia from frequent dancing was the highest of any activity studied, cognitive or physical.

    Mental Benefits

Some of the mental benefits of rhythmic dancing include:

§  An improvement in your mood

    §  Extra energy

    §  Helps with depression

    Physical Benefits

Some of the physical benefits of rhythmic dancing include:

    §  Improved flexibility

    §  Strengthening of the muscles

    §  Helps maintain bone mass

    §  Strengthening of the heart

    §  Improvement in posture

§  Improvement of your core muscle strength

§  Relieves joint pain due to arthritis

For women experiencing menopause and post menopause, exercising for fitness through dancing helps to develop stamina and maintain a healthy bone mass for those at risk for osteoporosis. For those with osteoarthritis, exercising can help relieve pain in the joints
